What project are you most proud of? Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, North Carolina. While I absolutely love my contemporary, vibrant multi-family projects, I get the most joy out of creating a rejuvenating and healing environment for the local community. We started this project several years ago and are still working to renovate the remainder of the hospital, one wing at a time. We have a wonderful team, and the transformation from a fairly cold, austere environment to a warm and inviting hospitality space has been uplifting and exciting for the patients and staff, as well as for the design team.

Why interior design? My passion for interior design started as a child, watching my mother, a decorative artist, paint custom furniture and stage homes for her residential clients. I would go with her to the clients' homes and listen as she worked with them to determine what type of space they wanted to create. I watched the entire process, and the end result would always amaze me. This process of taking an existing space and reimagining it in a way that created both a functional and aesthetically pleasing environment grabbed my attention. I learned that part of being a great designer is being able to interpret someone else's vision and make it come to life even bigger and better than they could have anticipated. Interior Design quickly became my passion; a way to merge my creative/artistic side with my technical/analytical side. I am lucky to have wonderful opportunities to collaborate with repeat clients to find ways to establish an identity or brand for them and to interject energy into each project.

3 things you cannot live without: 1) My family and little dog Zoe, they are my foundation.

2) AutoCAD - I am extremely detail oriented and can create anything I envision with a set of construction drawings. 3) Color! It invites us to interact with a space or item, evoking emotions and energy into everyday life.
