ILLINOIS ARTS COUNCIL AGENCY ANNOUNCES

CHICAGO - Governor Pat Quinn and Illinois Arts Council (IAC) Agency Chairman Shirley R. Madigan today announced that the Agency Board has elected Tatiana Gant as the Council's Executive Director.
Gant of Chicago, has been with the agency for 11 years. She has served as the Director of Arts-in-Education since 2003 and is the Project Director for the Education Leaders Institute, a national education policy project implemented in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Arts. She holds degrees in the visual arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Adams State University.
"The arts enrich our lives and make our state more vibrant," Governor Quinn said. "Tatiana has been a critical part of the council and I look forward to working with her to ensure we continue to support the arts throughout Illinois."
Chairman Madigan said that "Tatiana's unwavering commitment to the core values of the IAC make her the ideal choice to move the agency forward in its mission to build a strong, creative and connected Illinois through the Arts."
The Illinois Arts Council Agency has been supporting the Arts and Culture of Illinois since 1965.
