Strauss Troy provided legal counsel to the renovation and expansion of its client, Education Matters, an organization dedicated to enhancing access to education, personal growth opportunities and the overall quality of life for the Lower Price Hill Community.
A recent article from the Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits showcased how this organization is able to renovate its facilities and expand services with assistance from new market tax credits (NMTCs) and historic tax credits (HTCs).
Strauss Troy attorneys Matthew Fellerhoff and Patrick Newton worked with this non-profit for more than two years and assisted them in all real estate matters surrounding the expansion deal and in closing.
Education Matters, which runs its programs out of former St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will update its space to include a renovated education programming space, community laundromat, thrift store, food pantry and business incubator that will be run in partnership with Xavier University. The renovations are scheduled for completion in September.

Strauss Troy client, the City of Loveland, celebrated the groundbreaking of Loveland Station in late 2014. The $12 million project will include premier mixed use residential and retail development in the heart of the Loveland Historic Downtown District. The project is being developed by River Trails Flats, LLC.
According to the city's website, Loveland City Council approved the development agreement and the transfer of downtown property to River Trails Flats, LLC, thus paving the way for the Loveland Station to commence.
The project includes 94 low-rise luxury apartments and 15,000 square feet of upscale retail and commercial space. The commercial space will be completed during the summer of 2015 with all residential spaces to be completed by December of 2015. Click here to read more.

Cincinnati Section of the American Planning Association in January at the Anderson Center in Anderson Township.

Kentucky Symphony Orchestra's (KSO) 21st annual Valentine Gala/FUNdraiser starting at 6:30 p.m. on February 14 at the Newport Syndicate sponsored by Strauss Troy.
During the evening, the KSO Newport Ragtime Band will play music from 1910 through 1930, and the KSO's newest group, the Covington Devou-Doo Daddies, will debut playing songs from the late 1990s swing revival.
