Now Is The Time To Consider Property Valuation Reassessments
As 2014 comes to a close, now is the time to start considering next year's property tax bills. This year represents a significant period as the valuation reappraisal period is in process for three Southwest Ohio counties. Butler and Clermont County are currently in the midst of completing their required sexennial reappraisals, which often result in a whole-scale of changes in values which will be provided to taxpayers by the end of September. Hamilton County is conducting its triennial update with new values being sent to property owners around the same time. Rather than be caught off guard, now is the time to start considering whether you would like to file a complaint against the valuation of your real property.

Strauss Troy Attorney, Pete Smith, and his wife, Lisa, were honored as "Couple of the Year" by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati at the organization's Annual Celebration of Volunteers at Coney Island.
Pete and Lisa have been a Big Couple for five years to a young man named Eric from Northern Kentucky who's life has not always been easy due in part to a lack of a father-figure. Pete has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters since 1993 when he was in law school. Pete and his wife have two sons of their own, but they decided to volunteer as a Big Couple because they felt it would be a good mentoring experience for their family and their little brother, Eric.
Over the years, Eric has become like a family member to the Smiths. Together, they enjoy attending sporting activities, including Bengals and Reds games, the boys' sports events and the holidays.
The mentoring experience has been an incredibly positive one for Eric, who has grown in confidence, will be attending college and is considering becoming a Big Brother himself in the future.
The experience has also been rewarding for the Smith family. Pete and Lisa plan to continue being a Big Couple to Eric long after he graduates from high school.
