Dodgers' appearance in MLB Playoffs will result in schedule changes for our show this week and maybe next
More than half of our listeners live in Southern California and, as you probably know, the Los Angeles Dodgers have made it to the National League Division Series, playing beginning this Thursday in Atlanta against the Atlanta Braves.
We know that most of our SoCal listeners are huge Dodger fans, and here is where some of the beauty of our new world on the internet and away from radio comes in. Because we are the only show 24/7 on our stream (or "internet radio station"), we can do the show live at the time when it's convenient for most listeners to hear it, and then we can replay it continuously so everyone can tune in and enjoy it at its regular time.
And, P1 susbcribers should know that we won't miss a single show even if we have to do each show at a different time!
Be prepared for a different, likely earlier, start time this Thursday and Friday so that the live show will end in time for the games to begin. This way, you can enjoy our entire live show and then switch over to the Dodgers if you like or you can listen at the regular time if you're not a baseball fan or a Dodger fan.
The Dodgers begin play in Atlanta on Thursday and Friday at a time to be determined, but we believe that the games will probably begin on TV at 5 PM Pacific/8 PM Eastern. In that event, we will do both days' shows live one hour early, from 2 - 5 PM Pacific/5 - 8 PM Eastern. Leykis 101 would take place on Thursday at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET so that it would replay at its regular 5 PM PT/8 PM ET time. Friday, it's all about Wide Open Phones (WOP) and so you'll hardly notice a difference except that we'll have fresh content and your phone calls at 2 Pacific instead of at 3.
The following Monday, Your Professor has tickets to Game 4 and, if the series goes four games, we will do the show much earlier, 11 AM till 2 PM Pacific/ 2 PM till 5 PM Eastern. In that case, Money Monday will happen at 11 AM Pacific so it will replay at 2 PM and again at the regular time, 5 PM Pacific/8 PM Eastern. If you listen at the regular time, you won't notice any difference unless you try to call in.
We know that all this sounds confusing, but it's our job to figure it out and make it easy for you. We will keep you updated as we know more, and, if you're not already on our mailing list, join it by going here. You'll receive emails each day right before our start time so you'll know just when to tune in. Be sure to open our emails as the week progresses for updates.
