Will Lin to Compete in IMSA Challenge with World Speed Motorsports

World Speed Motorsports announced today that the team will be contesting the entire IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge this season with rookie Will Lin.

"We worked with Will all last season in preparation for the 2012 IMSA GT3 Cup," noted WSM Team Manager John Olsen. "We are looking forward to helping him meet all of his performance goals for the 2012 season."

The eight-event, 15-race IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama season starts today at the 60th Annual Twelve Hours of Sebring, and tours with the American Le Mans Series to some of the most famous venues in motorsports - Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, Mosport International Raceway, Virginia International Raceway, Road America and Road Atlanta.

This Weekend's Race Schedule:

  • IMSA Challenge Race #1: 4:10 Eastern March 15th
  • IMSA Challenge Race #2: 4:10 Eastern March 16th

NASA Speed News Magazine Announced
World Speed Team Members Provide Interest Stories
WSM Mazda powered prototype testing in February at Infineon Raceway NASA Pro Racing is now publishing a monthly motorsports magazine, and World Speed team members have been given the opportunity to provide content for the first two issues.

"The magazine is loaded with interesting content, and because of its digital nature there are embeded videos and links so that you can access even more information," stated World Speed Communications Director Mark Milazzo. "It is a great format, with tons of cool behind the scenes stories.

The February issue featured a detailed look at getting the most out of your brakes, which was penned by WSM Team Manager John Olsen.

The current issue features a story on getting started in open wheel racing, and how to get and retain a sponsor written by Mark Milazzo.

The series is divided into two classes; the Platinum Cup, featuring the more powerful 2010 - 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, and the Gold Cup, which includes 2005� - 2009 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars. Both classes race on environmentally-focused Yokohama ADVAN ENV-R2 racing tires.
