STAYING INFORMED: Attend the June Q&A Webinar
Thank you to all those who attended the March 9th Q&A webinar. We are pleased to report that over 75 providers from across the state participated in this hour-long webinar. We added the questions and answers to our FAQ document, available on www.ascendami.com.

This quarter's Q&A webinar will be held on Thursday, June 22 at 3:00 PM ET/2:00 PM CT. If you are new to IN PASRR or have questions about policies, processes, or using AssessmentPro, we encourage you to attend. This session offers you the opportunity to ask questions to the members of the Ascend IN PASRR team. Note - Ascend will not be presenting new information.
UPDATE: Long Form LOC Decisions
Following an in-depth review of long form LOC decisions, FSSA has instructed Ascend to increase review of these assessments and pay particular attention to the length of stay (LOS). As a result, you may see more conservative decisions, in terms of length of stay and additional continued stay. As part of this effort, more referrals will be made to the local INconnect Alliance member (ADRC) for options counseling to assist individuals in returning to the community.
BEST PRACTICE: Adding a Medication to the Record
When adding a psychotropic drug into an individual's record, be sure to look carefully through all available options in the Mental Health Medications dropdown section of the online form. You can select as many medications as needed, by clicking on the Add Another button at bottom-left of the Medications window.
If you need to include a medication not listed in the dropdown options, simply type the item(s) into the window below the medications window. Indicate multiple items by entering the medication name, a comma and a single-space before typing in each additional item. Reference example pictured below.
REMINDER: Always Provide Complete Demographic Info
When you submit information to the Help Desk, remember to include all necessary pieces of data to resolve your request. Be sure to provide the following information in a secure manner:
  • Individual's Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Submitter's Name and Contact Number
  • Any Other Data Specific to Your Request

A NOTE OF THANKS: PASRR Related Training Survey
The Division of Aging would like to extend a big thank you to the 531 providers who completed the recent survey on training related to the PASRR process. We heard from those employed by Nursing Facilities (56%), Hospitals (32%), and Area Agencies on Aging (12%). We received many great comments and useful suggestions, which we are analyzing now. This information will be very helpful as we work to improve our training process. Stay tuned for future updates based on the findings, as well as another short survey to be sent in the next few months.
