The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech is proud to announce that INEX Legend cars have a new home base beginning in 2018. An amazing campaign has been assembled for the coming season thanks to great sponsorship partners Superior Finish Lawn & Landscape, Last Chance Wrecker, A&M Custom Paint & Body, and 3rd Turn Performance. The schedule includes 15 Speedrome dates as well as 5 at the Anderson Speedway and 4 at the Sportsdrome Speedway. There is a strong point fund and increased feature payouts at the Speedrome. Several National Qualifier events will be held as well as a couple of special “big money” contests. See the entire slate of races and more on the Speedrome.com web site.
The 2018 Superior Finish Lawn & Landscape Legend series is quickly becoming one of the highest anticipated campaigns for next year. The standard-bearer drivers who have reigned over the class the past few years are being joined by a new wave of racers hungry for a challenge. Several Front Wheel Drive and Faskart teams have already made the move with several additions to follow. Not only is the Speedrome the new home base, but 3rd Turn Performance (located just behind the track) is the new official dealer for INEX Legend cars and parts.
In August of 1994, a fresh and intriguing brand of cars built in North Carolina made their debut at the Speedrome. The INEX Legend cars were a quick hit at the tight fifth-mile track with hundreds of events held here over the next couple decades. Speedrome sanctioned events then spawned to many tracks around the Midwest as well as temporary racing facilities such as the RCA Dome and Indiana State Fairgrounds. The affordable spec car’s popularity is unmatched with over 5,000 cars having been built since its inception.
Speedrome Legend track champions include Larry Fritz, Doug Greig, Rodney Smith, Jeep Pflum, TJ Sneva, Tony Holden, Aaron Holden, John Greer Jr, and Tyler Payne. Nationally notable figures who have hoisted INEX Legend checkered flags at the Speedrome are Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip, ARCA winner Travis Braden, NASCAR Truck Series winners Austin Cindric and Ben Rhodes, former Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Tony George, and Indycar winner Ed Carpenter. The rich history with INEX Legend cars and the Speedrome continues in 2018 with the Superior Finish Lawn & Landscape Legend series.
