IPSF IMPACT - February 2017 Edition

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR ENRICHMENT DAY

Registration is now open for IPSF Enrichment Day 2017. If you do not have plans for your child/children on Monday, February 20, a district-wide school holiday, IPSF invites students in Grades 2-8 to spend the Presidents' Day holiday with us!

The day will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at IUSD Westwood Training Center. Students may pre-register for classes in a variety of engaging and fun subjects including Minecraft, LEGO Engineering, Zip Line STEM Challenge, Hand Sewing Emojis, Shark Dissection, Improv, and much more.

Cost for the day is $90 per student, which includes four class periods. Students should bring a sack lunch, or can pre-purchase lunch for an additional $5.50. To register, visit ipsfacademy.org/ee .

Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer on your school's team at the Winter Bowl Flag Football Tournament! We owe a special thanks to all the volunteers and coaches who helped make this event such a success!

MATHLETICS
NIGHT

IUSD middle school students and their families are invited to Mathletics Night at UC Irvine Men's Basketball! Mathletics Night allows students to apply math skills learned in class to in-game basketball statistics, all while cheering on our local Anteaters - ZOT!

Join us as UCI Men's Basketball take on UC Riverside at the Bren Events Center on Saturday, February 18. Tickets are complimentary, but you must complete the online registration by February 13.

HOOPS CLASSIC REGISTRATION

Register now for the 14th Annual Hoops Classic Basketball Tournament on March 10th and 12th. Tryouts are open to 5th-8th grade girls and boys. There will be boys' divisions for grade level 5/6, 7, and 8 and girls' divisions for grades 5/6 and 7/8.

No experience is necessary to participate! Pre-registration is free. $25 per player will be collected once final teams are chosen. Each team must have a volunteer coach (parent, teacher, PE teacher). If you are interested in becoming a volunteer coach, please contact [email protected] .

HONORS CONCERT TICKETS AND KEEPSAKES ON SALE

IPSF, in partnership with the Irvine Unified School District, is proud to present the 35th Annual Donald Bren Honors Concert on Thursday, March 16. Each year, over 600 of Irvine's finest young musicians in grades 5-12 participate in this memorable event and perform before an audience of more than 1,500 distinguished guests and family members at the Renée & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

IPSF has a limited number of seats in the Orchestra Terrace section still available. These tickets will sell out quickly, so get yours today! Come celebrate our 20 years of IMPACT at IPSF's Birthday Bash on Saturday, April 22 at the Great Park! You won't want to miss this epic party with activities for all ages including the 3rd Annual STEAM Carnival, "Cheers to 20 Years" beer and wine garden, live music, student performances, and local food trucks.

The STEAM Carnival is our creative twist on the traditional carnival, providing students and families fun, hands-on activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

The IPSF Flyer Booklet is a low-cost way to put your business directly into the hand of families of 23,000 IUSD elementary-age students. As the ONLY business advertisement allowed in Irvine schools, the IPSF Flyer Booklet is sent home twice a year - spring and fall - and is a great way to advertise your business or program to Irvine families. Every elementary student will take home a Spring Flyer Booklet in their backpack in March, with an electronic version distributed to approximately 60,000 community members.
