Students Get a Lesson in Math and Science Through Angels Baseball
Natalie Hanenkrat jotted down the Pythagorean Theorem on the whiteboard, but this is no ordinary math lesson. Hanenkrat was teaching her 17 students the Angels Science of Baseball summer course, and they used the famous equation to estimate the area of Angel Stadium's field. Read More

WINTER BOWL
DEADLINE 

Registration for Winter Bowl 2017 will close on Friday, January 6. Teams will be formed by each school with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 players. There will be a boys' team for each grade level 3-8, and girls' teams will be combined teams from grades 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8. 

No experience is necessary to participate! Pre-registration is free. $25 per player will be collected once final teams are chosen. Each team must have a volunteer coach (parent, teacher, PE teacher). If you are interested in becoming a volunteer coach, please contact [email protected].






INNOVATIVE GRANTS PROGRAM 
The IPSF Innovative Grants Program is making a difference in our schools and the lives of Irvine students. Check out this Daily Pilot feature on the Heart & Sole program, funded through an IPSF innovation grant, which teaches girls how to use running as a way to inspire and build confidence. Since fall 2014, more than 100 girls at South Lake Middle School have participated in the program.

SPRING BREAK
FAMILY TOURS 
IPSF has teamed up with See America Travel for the second annual Spring Break Family Tours! This year, we are offering two, 6-day/5-night family tour options, departing from Irvine in a deluxe motor coach and traveling throughout the Southwestern United States or Northern California. Participants will learn about nature, geology, animals, history, and interesting trivia about the places that will be explored!

The Spring Break Family Tours will be April 2-7, 2017.  Sign up by  January 15 for early bird pricing. 
 





ANNUAL CAMPAIGN - THANK YOU!
Thank you to the hundreds of generous supporters who made the 2016 IPSF Annual Campaign a success! View a list of their names on our online Donor Honor Roll. With your participation, IPSF can continue to provide crucial funding to Irvine schools for classroom support, music, science, and health & wellness. Not on the list? It's not too late! Make a gift by January 31 to add your name to the final 2016 Annual Campaign Donor Honor Roll.

Also- don't forget for those who have donated $50 or more, you will be receiving a FREE commemorative IPSF hot/cold beverage tumbler as a token of our gratitude. In addition to the cup, our restaurant partners throughout the city will be offering FREE beverages in the coming year. The tumblers will be distributed later this month, and a calendar of the beverage promotions will be available on our website. A direct email will be sent out next week with further details.
