NASA SELECTS IRVINE CUBESAT STEM PROGRAM FOR LAUNCH

Even before the official launch of IRVINE01, the Irvine CubeSat STEM program has caught the attention of NASA. IPSF is honored to share that the Irvine CubeSat STEM Program has been selected as one of only 34 small satellites nationwide to participate in NASA's CubeSat Launch Initiative and fly on an upcoming mission. Irvine CubeSat is one of only two high school groups chosen by NASA to participate in this prestigious program, alongside world class universities and research centers.

The agency selected the Irvine CubeSat STEM Program to be eligible for a NASA launch opportunity for IRVINE02, Irvine CubeSat's second CubeSat mission. Students are currently preparing to launch their first CubeSat, IRVINE01, into orbit in June 2017 from India.

IPSF is so proud of the students and instructors involved for all they have accomplished already through the program in preparation for the launch, and we are so thankful for our sponsors FivePoint, Microsemi, Ingersoll Rand/Trane, Cisco, and Resilient who have helped us make this endeavor a reality for Irvine.

IPSF SCHOLARSHIPS

IPSF is proud to offer three annual scholarship programs: the Kevin Armstrong Memorial Scholarship, Lee Bryn Brooks Community Service Scholarship, and IPSF Student Athlete Scholarship. These three scholarship programs are open to graduating seniors planning to pursue post-secondary education with an emphasis on demonstrated leadership and community service in Orange County.

HOOPS CLASSIC 2017

Come out and support your school's team at the Hoops Classic Basketball Tournament Friday, March 10 through Sunday, March 12. The Hoops Classic is part of IPSF's Irvine Youth Sports Tournament of Champions, a city-wide annual sports program that consists of basketball, soccer, and football tournaments. Schools earn points for their performance in each tournament, and the school with the most points at the end of the year is awarded the Champions Cup to display at their school. IPSF ANNUAL REPORT

IPSF is excited to share its 2015-16 Annual Report. IPSF achieved many exciting milestones from expanding summer programs and awarding over $130,000 in teachers grants, to becoming the funding partner of the Irvine CubeSat STEM Program.

SUMMER ENRICHMENT ACADEMY REGISTRATION OPENS 3/20

Each year, IPSF offers summer classes for all students entering grades K-12. A wide range of exciting enrichment classes in subjects including STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), grade level prep, programming, performing arts, and sports will be offered, all taught by credentialed teachers and IPSF-approved vendors.

This year, IPSF will offer two three-week sessions for Summer Enrichment Academy (SEA) in grades K-8. Session A will be held from June 19 - July 7, and Session B from July 11 - July 28. High School classes will be held from June 14 - July 26.

Other specialty camps offered this year include: Camp Galileo presented by IPSF June 19 - July 28, The Young Americans August 1- August 5, IPSF Musical June 19 - July 29, and IPSF August Camps July 31 - August 18.

Registration for Summer Enrichment Academy K-12 will open on Monday, March 20 at 7 a.m. at www.ipsfacademy.org.

SUMMER FAMILY TOURS

IPSF has teamed up with See America Travel for the Summer Break Family Tours! Departing from Irvine in a deluxe motor coach, families can choose to enjoy traveling throughout the Southwestern United States or Northern California from June 11- June 16. Participants will learn about nature, geology, animals, history, and interesting anecdotes regarding the places they will be exploring!
