On Tuesday, September 6, the CubeSat Speaker Series continues at Irvine High School Theater at 6 p.m. featuring Dr. Natalya Brikner, a rocket scientist and CEO/Founder of Accion Systems Inc. Accion uses their proprietary ion beam technology to create propulsion systems for satellites that are safe and non-explosive.
Dr. Brikner is an inspiration and continues to make a positive impact on the world, while challenging the perception of women in her field.

Instrument Rental Day is coming on Saturday, September 10. Each year, IPSF rents nearly 2,000 high-quality musical instruments at affordable prices to students in IUSD. Did you know that proceeds from the IR program support music programs across the district? Since 1990, the Instrument Rental program has raised over $1 million to fund music programs in IUSD.
Appointments must be made online in advance. Reserve your appointment online beginning September 6 at 8 a.m. through September 9 at noon.

SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE - SEPTEMBER 30!
We have extended the deadline for IPSF
Scholarship for the Arts in Honor of Will Ferrell
to Friday,
September 30
. We are seeking a student who exemplifies a passion for the Arts whether in music, dance or theater, and has that certain spark defined by Will Ferrell, IUSD alumnus and internationally-acclaimed actor, comedian, producer, and writer. This $10,000 scholarship will be awarded to a qualified IUSD high school student graduating in June 2017 and planning to pursue post-secondary education.

HOAG HEALTH CENTER GRAND OPENING
Congratulations to our corporate partner Hoag on the grand opening of their newest health center in Irvine.
