America's Largest Classroom Just Got Larger 

LearningMedia

IPTV is pleased to announce the launch of a brand new multimedia resource for teachers and students called PBS LearningMedia. It contains a massive collection of digital content from public broadcast stations around the country.

 

In addition to the high quality media content teachers have come to expect from PBS, the new service offers resources from other publicly funded organizations including the National Archives, the Library of Congress, NPR, NASA, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Dept. of Education, and many others that total well over 14,000 resources.

Grade Range: 3-5, 6-8 

Learn Spanish as it is put into meaningful context. Have your students learn Spanish more deeply through animated videos with embedded games that help build vocabulary and strengthen comprehension.

PBS Kids Video for iPad: There's an App for That

Grade Range: PreK-2, 3-5 

Enjoy videos and clips from PBS Kids shows including The Cat in the Hat, Dinosaur Train, and Super Why! on your iPad. Every week, the app will introduce kids to a "weekly pick," a set of educational videos that will engage them in reading, science, or math.

A fresh and relevant narrative (developed with a former producer of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report) The American Presidents takes a closer look at the people who led this country through change and the lives they affected, from an early idea of democracy to our first African-American President.

All About Archeology

Grade Range: 3-5 

Have your students explore, discover, and investigate just like archeologists. During this ICN session, staff from the University of Iowa Archeology Department will conduct hands-on, inquiry-based activities to introduce the skills needed to be archeologists.  Through various activities, students will look at "artifacts" and analyze and interpret what these resources are or could be.

Stories and More: ABC's

Grade Range: PreK-2

Stories & More ICN sessions are interactive and educational, where students read stories, watch short videos, sing songs, discuss, and work on activities. Participating in this ICN session is a great way to get children excited learning.
