Safia Ansari
Safia Ansari is President of 
 the Atlanta Muslim Young Professionals (AMYP), which aims to empower the Muslim professional by providing a platform for professional development and networking. S afia is  an educator and mentor.   Safia has been volunteering in the Atlanta Muslim community for over 10 years with groups like the Georgia Muslim Student Associations Council,  the Muslim Interscholastic Tournament (MIST),  and local mosques and schools. 
She holds a B.A. in English Education from  Georgia State University  and is currently pursuing her Masters in Teaching English at Georgia State University.  Safia is a native Atlantan.  Safia lives in Sandy Springs with her husband.

Sarah Ayfer Ozturk

 Sarah Ayfer Ozturk is a Turkish-American Muslim involved in the Islamic Society of Augusta. She is a junior majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology and minoring in Spanish at Georgia Regents University in Augusta, GA. She is a member of the Honors Program, treasurer of the Muslim Student Association, treasurer of the Foreign Language Honor Society, and Vice-President of Biology Club and Biology Honor Society. She works in the study abroad office as a student assistant.  

Sarah loves traveling and meeting people from all the world. Toledo, Spain is one of her favorite destinations because of its history of the coexistence of the three Abrahamic traditions. She believes that exposure to different cultures and places allows people to understand themselves. In the community, she has been volunteering with her family and youth group at the Golden Harvest Food Bank since 2006. Volunteering at the soup kitchen is what touches her heart the most.
Bryonna Mathews

As a graduate of Emory University's nursing school, Bryonna Mathews has gained a wealth of experience by consistently promoting healthy living and advocating for best practices regarding women's health. Bryonna is beginning her career at Northside Hospital in the Labor and Delivery Unit.  One of her earlier accolades includes becoming the youngest certified birthing doula in the nation, which led to the creation of "A Mother's Pearl Birth Services," in 2010. 

After working in the clinical setting for a few years, Bryonna plans to enroll in a Masters program to become a Nurse-Midwife and/or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in order to provide the best care for women.  With the support of her loving husband, who also works in the healthcare sector, Bryonna would like to open her own Birth Center or Women's Health Clinic. 

In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, praying, volunteering, exercising, doing Yoga with her husband, and spending time with her family and friends.
Yasmeen Bint Haneef Sabir 

Yasmeen Sabir offers more than a decade of social community development. Being a native of San Diego, California allowed her to understand the significance of diversity and culture within growing communities. At Tuskegee University, she conceived the model for Build For Humanity - a development model focused on advancing education and enhancing culture through sustainable development. 

As Founder & Director of Expansion of Build For Humanity, Yasmeen is responsible for securing implementation and fostering smart growth projects that stop urban sprawl. Since 2013, she's implemented over 5 learning gardens and consulted with multiple community organizations to increase food security. 

Yasmeen continues to cultivate her passion for youth and women empowerment through her non-profit organization, Healing Matters which empowers young women leaders through intergenerational mentorship, intercultural collaboration, and creative programs to achieve their personal goals and improve their communities.
Sameera Omar

Sameera Omar is currently in her final year studying Psychology at Georgia Tech. She has been an active community builder on Georgia Tech's campus and involved in hosting and organizing multiple TED conferences. She co-founded Startup Exchange,  a space that has since grown to become the largest entrepreneurial hub for students in Atlanta. 

She is also the co-founder of Empathy Revolution, a two-week long service initiative for college students in Kenya, along with GT TRUST, an organization that pairs dozens of student mentors with under-served children in Atlanta.  Sameera  is currently a leadership development youth coach at Gwinnett Islamic Circle and the president of the GT Muslim Student Association. She's a lover of books, canyon hikes, training sheep, and further pursuing the science of engineering human experiences. 
Reem Faruqi

Reem Faruqi is an author of  children's books.  Her first book titled "Lailah's Lunchbox" will be released in June 2015.
The book is based on her own experiences as a young Muslim girl immigrating to the United States.  Reem is passionate about children's literature and has worked as an elementary school teacher with Fulton County Schools. 

Currently, she serves as the Islamic Speakers Bureau Communications Director and Scheduler.  In her role, she is responsible for the  ISB communications strategy including the monthly newsletters and coordinates all ISB's speaking engagements. She enjoys writing, blogging, and photography and runs a small photography business. Currently, she lives with her husband and 2 daughters in Atlanta.


Daarina Farooq Jannah

Daarina  Farooq Jannah is an Atlanta based creative designer in
the event design industry. A native of Houston, Texas and graduate of Texas A&M University,  Daarina  has always found enjoyment in transforming the ordinary into the exquisite. From a young age, she has channeled her creative talents through fashion, art, interior decorating and event design. She has found her passion for creativity most expressive in designing experiences that inspire and embody a culturally classic look.  Daarina is an active member in the Atlanta Muslim community and has contributed her gift of creativity throughout various community related projects and organizations.
