Major General Yaacov Amidror served as the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Israel and was head of the National Security Council, from 2011 to 2013.

He served with the Israel Defense Forces for 36 years.

Today Maj.-Gen Amidror is the Anne and Greg Rosshandler Senior Fellow at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, Bar - Ilan University, and is a Distinguished Fellow of JINSA's Gemunder Center.
