Legal Aspects of Software Licensing & Technology Acquisition
This one day seminar will provide an introduction to the understanding of the legal aspects of software license agreements and technology acquisitions. You don't need to be an IT professional or a lawyer to play a role in providing your company with technology or software acquisition contracts, especially after you have participated in this seminar.
Attendees in this seminar will be given an introduction into distinguishing the license of software vs. the purchase of goods and services as well as an overview of laws governing technology and software agreements and intellectual property rights. Understanding the key issues in software license agreements, such as types of licenses and defining the licensee, dealing with assignments, warranties, training, support and maintenance are just a few areas of in-depth knowledge that will be provided. This course will also look at the key issues in software development agreements, hardware acquisition, trial and test agreements, shrink-wrap and click-wrap agreements, cloud computing and electronic commerce.
