LAN Systems is sponsoring the GCC Executive Insights

We are delighted to sponsor the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Executive Insights series. The speaker for the inaugural event was Ed Bastian, CEO Delta Airlines. He discussed Delta's road to recovery and new innovations, like purchasing an oil refinery to manage the supply of jet fuel and an employee bonus plan that paid the largest amount ever in profit-sharing programs, have transformed the company.

The planning for the next event in Fall 2016 is
underway and promises another inspiring leader from our local community of great companies.

Windows 10 has many features to help you be more efficient and do more with your computer. Whether you say you're multi-tasking or multi-doing, Windows 10 makes it easy and fun! Our lives are busier than ever requiring us to juggle more tasks, both big and small. And with so many of those tasks being online, our devices should be flexible and efficient. With features like Action Center, Task View and Snap Assist, it's all about removing the obstacles between you and 'Done'.
Easily organize your screen
We often have multiple apps open at once, jumping between them to complete tasks. Windows 10 makes it easier to organize your screen with enhancements in Snap. Now you can quickly snap up to four things on your screen at once simply by dragging those apps into the corners. Windows will even suggest how to fill the gaps with other open apps.
Control your desktop
Sometimes the amount of content we run on our computer can get overwhelming. Task view in Windows 10 provides a simple way to see your open apps, docs and files in a single view to manage what you're doing. And if your screen is getting crowded, you can create a virtual desktop to gain more space and work with just the items you want.
One place to take action
Our devices constantly keep us updated through notifications and it's easy to get overwhelmed. With Action Center, your notifications and key settings are in one view so you can manage them or quickly take action-like replying to email or changing screen brightness without having to go through the app.

Fernbank Modernization Project

LAN Systems recently completed an IT modernization project for the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. The project blended several technologies specifically chosen to give the biggest efficiency and productivity improvements.
Executive Summary
The Fernbank Museum of Natural History (Fernbank) is an award winning museum with thousands of visitors each year. Since its opening in 1992, the museum has provided an educational, interactive and memorable experience for its guests. And just as Fernbank has modernized its exhibits to provide a richer experience, it came time to update the IT infrastructure for performance and efficiency.

With the help of LAN Systems and TechBridge, Fernbank developed a plan to combine Cloud and on-premise solutions to modernize their infrastructure while minimizing costs. Using Microsoft Office 365 for email and collaboration along with a server refresh and consolidation project, Fernbank was able to upgrade their network to support their future productivity needs.
