The LEAD program is designed for emerging and experienced civic leaders who want to be more effective in their community leadership endeavors. Throughout five sessions, Leadership Indianapolis will help you develop and hone the key skills necessary to achieving success in the civic arena, and provide the opportunity to practice them.
Participants will learn to:
Build trust among group members
Cast a clear and compelling vision for projects, initiatives, etc.
Motivate a team to work together and achieve success
Develop the confidence to lead with or without authority
The Indiana Commission for Women (ICW) will host the 45th Annual Conference and Empowerment Summit for the National Association of Commissions for Women (NACW). Open to all women's organizations, this three day conference offers workshops in professional skills development, women's issues and creative programming ideas.

Gail Barksdale is the Deputy Director of Athletics & Senior Woman Administrator at IUPUI Athletics. She oversees the department's internal operations, including several administrative units and athletic teams. In addition to serving as a member of the Department of Athletics' senior management team, she also serves as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) to the NCAA and Summit League. Gail has been involved with IWL for several years, volunteering at the conference and raising funds for our Charity Spotlight Recipients and now we are excited to welcome her onto the IWL Foundation Board of Directors!

WGU Indiana is celebrating its fifth anniversary this month with events throughout the state. Since it was established in 2010, WGU Indiana has grown from 250 students to 4,100. Chancellor Allison Barber says more than 2,300 students have graduated from the school, and the majority are still living in the state.
