The Christi Anderson Personal Innovation Award
Congratulations Adriena Wright!
|
Christi's family presented the award to Adriena at the IWL Conference on August 31. |
Last Thursday, we presented our Third Annual Christi Anderson Personal Innovation Award at the Indianapolis IWL Women's Leadership Conference to
Adriena Wright, a resilient woman who has risen above extremely tough physical and mental challenges after being in a near-fatal car crash at the age of 18. Her nominator wrote that, "
She truly innovated herself from being in a depressed and physically broken state to being a strong, empowering woman and role model." Adriena now self-funds college preparation workshops for first generation college students in urban areas, and this scholarship will go toward funding more of these.
We were so glad to see 2016 recipient, Tia Jackson, again at the conference last week. She told us,
"As a result of winning the scholarship I was able to pay for 2 additional classes and books toward my degree in Organizational Leadership. I was also able to connect with an organization that will help prepare me for the local and eventually the national stage. The CEO of Accent on Business was in the audience the day I received my award and reached out to me. Being a speaker on the national stage is one of my goals, and I believe I am one step closer to that goal.Overall, being the 2016 recipient of the Christi Anderson Award has really inspired me not to quit and believe that I can achieve all of my goals."
Tia continues to do leadership training and coaching, traveling all over the country for Bonfire Training.
We are now taking nominations for the 2018 Christi Anderson Personal Innovation Award! To nominate a deserving woman for next year's award, please use this
nomination form.
Donations can also be made to this scholarship fund HERE.
