Toe-may-toe, Toe-mah-toe, or 'mater - whatever you call them - what's better than an August nightshade? Enjoy them while networking with other foodies at the Tomato Festival and Great Tomato Un-Cookoff at New Amsterdam Market! Ticketed attendees will taste and rate multiple varieties of heirloom and non-GMO tomatoes and sample creations from 10+ of NYC's "underground" and "above ground" chefs.  Un-Cookoff chefs will transform our region's best, height-of-the-season tomatoes into tantalizing tomato recipes - simple, refreshing preparations - for you and your tastebuds...think salsa, bruschetta, lightly pre-cooked items and more creative takes on the glorious tomato!

All proceeds from ticket sales benefit Food Systems Network NYC.  There will also be a free tomato canning demonstration by Spicy 'n Sweet, an "Ask the Tomato Expert" table, and tomato-centric dishes made by New Amsterdam Market vendors, including: Brooklyn Bean Company, Hot Bread Kitchen, First Field and more. And, there will be raffle prizes for existing and newly enrolled FSNYC members! Check the FSNYC website for details on participating chefs, special judges, prizes and more!
