Impact 100 Chicago

October 2018 Newsletter

September has been a very busy month for us. We held several membership/recruitment events, and we just closed the acceptance of Letter of Inquiries (LOIs) into the grant review process. We are thrilled that even with the change in the calendar we have received   approximately 100  LOIs.

The Grant Relations team is busy reviewing those applications to prepare for the Grant Review process which will start later this month at our Kick Off event on October 23rd in Schaumburg. Please plan on attending and bringing some friends as we will have guest speakers from both of our Impact Grant recipients, Shelter Inc. and St. Leonard's Ministries.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the Membership Kick Off on October 23rd in Schaumburg. As an added bonus we have a Sip 'n Shop in Arlington Heights on October 3rd!

Membership Update
We have some great opportunities coming up for both members and guests to socialize, network, and learn more about Impact 100 Chicago.  Not a member yet?  It's easy to join!

We have a variety of options:  you can either bring a check to one of the events below OR join online at www.impact100chicago.org. As an alternative, if you are interested in donating stock to fund your membership, contact [email protected] for more information.

We also welcome Impact 100 Chicago supporters to sponsor women who may not be able to make the $1,000 membership contribution. Donors may choose to sponsor a particular person or someone from our list of potential members looking for a sponsor.  Some members have chosen to honor their loved ones by making an "In Memory of" donation.

Just remember that in order to participate on a GRC or be able to vote in the 2019 Grant Awards process we need you to register by October 31st and your membership must be fully paid by December 31st. For more information, please contact us at

One of our Membership events in September was a "Day of Kindness" at Elgin Community Crisis Center, a 2016 Impact Grant winner.  On September 11th members enjoyed an afternoon there adorning the facility with Fall decorations and flowers for the 36 women and children currently in residence.  Our Day of Kindness was a big hit with the kids as they colored pumpkins to add to the pumpkin patch in the stairwell and decorated placemats for the dinner we provided.
One of the youngest residents exclaimed with delight that there were "brownies, candy and Twinkies following the FEAST" which made us both happy and humbled that a simple meal of salad, chicken, pasta and bread was so appreciated.  The staff at Elgin Community Crisis Center continue their great work on behalf of these families and the impact of our grant award is visible and made us all so proud!
