COMPLETE YOUR BACK-TO-SCHOOL UPDATE FOR 2017-18

The Westlake Schools online Back-to-School Information Update site is now open for the 2017-18 school year.

The Back-to-School Information Update is where you provide your emergency contact information, SchoolMessenger parent alert information, medical information, and sign off on routine policies. Information you provided last year will be uploaded for your review and you will be able to make changes. The update must be completed by a parent or guardian.

PLEASE NOTE:

You must complete the Back to School Information Update in order to receive your child's class assignment.

If you have more than one child enrolled in the Westlake Schools, you must complete the update process for each child .

To complete your update:

Go to the Back-to-School Information Update site and log in to get started. You will need your child's username and password.

Username = Student ID#. Student ID# can be found on your child's report card. You can also obtain your child's ID# by emailing [email protected]. (You can also call the Bassett office in August at 440.835.6330.)

Password = Your child's birth date in the mm/dd/yyyy format. Be sure to include the forward slashes and all 4 digits in the year.

As you go through the update process, read the information and instructions carefully. Ensure the information you submit is accurate.

When you are finished, be sure to click "Continue".

NEW DISTRICT WEBSITE

Recently the Westlake City School District launched a new website. The homepage is still at wlake.org but please note that associated links have changed.

If you refer to previous editions of the Bassett Blast, links connected to the old website no longer work. Starting with this Bassett Blast, all links are updated.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

School Supply Kit Pick-Up

If you ordered a school supply kit, pick-up is Monday, August 14, 7:30-10:30 am at Bassett. You may also pick up your kit at the Open House on August 17. If you have questions, please contact Liz Pirnat at [email protected].

OPEN HOUSE FOR GRADES 1-4

August 17, 5:30-7:00 pm

Bassett's Open House for grades 1-4 students and parents is Thursday, August 17, 5:30-7:00 pm.

The Open House will be an opportunity to drop off school supplies, meet your teacher, and more! If you have more than one child at Bassett, there will be plenty of time to visit multiple classrooms. Additional details are coming soon.

PLAY DATES FOR INCOMING KINDERGARTNERS

If you have a child who will be in kindergarten at Bassett in 2017-18, there are play dates scheduled at the Bassett playground during August! The flyer is shown below and is available for download here.

SUMMER READING, MATH,

AND TYPING

W e hope you are encouraging your child to participate in Bassett's Summer Reading, Math, and Typing (grades 2-4) programs! If you need to download forms, they are available below. Please note that the math forms are grade-specific .
