Student Portal and E-mail
After students register for classes, they will have access to a student portal called MyJCC with email powered by Google.  Once you login to your MyJCC page, you can access your courses, JCC email, Banner, and other content. Please note that your JCC email is the OFFICIAL way JCC will communicate with you.  You are responsible for checking your JCC email regularly for important messages.
Student Bills

Jamestown Community College will not be mailing paper billing statements to students.  In efforts for JCC to support a paperless, greener environment we will be eliminating the mailing of paper bills.  Student bills can be viewed at https://banner.sunyjcc.edu

Student Housing
The Office of Residence Life is committed to providing quality on-campus living for 340 residents. We are accepting applications for the spring 2016 semester These rooms will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis according to the submission date of the housing application and the $200 security deposit.

Disability Support Services
Jamestown Community College is dedicated to providing quality education to all students.  The college provides a variety of services to assist students with disabilities during their academic careers.  To arrange for assistance, contact the Disability Support Services Office located in Main Street, 2nd floor Hultquist, or call 716.338.1251.
Student Insurance

All full-time students (12 credit hours or more) will have $9.00 accident insurance added directly to their bill. Sickness insurance is optional for full-time students.  Both sickness and accident insurance are optional for part-time students. Contact the Business Office for further information. 

Parking Permits

Parking permits for JCC personnel and students on the Jamestown Campus are required. Parking permit decals must be affixed to vehicles.  Parking regulations and applications for decals can be obtained in the Campus Store in the Hamilton Collegiate Center or online.

Total Fitness

Located in the PHED Complex on the Jamestown Campus, JCC Total Fitness offers a full-size gym, jogging track, swimming pool, diving well, and Life Fitness and free weight equipment.

Student ID Cards

Student ID cards can be obtained in the student workroom across from the FSA offices near the bookstore.

 

Student must present picture ID and class schedule/student bill showing their student J# to receive ID.

 

Student ID cards provide access to many programs and services (i.e. library, Physical Education Complex).

 

DO NOT DEFACE YOUR STUDENT ID.  DO NOT HOLE PUNCH, CUT, OR BEND IT.  Replacement cards will cost $50.

 

Returning students should have their ID cards validated in the Campus Store.

Deans' List

The Deans' List certificate is issued to full-time students who have earned a GPA of 3.5 or better in 12 or more credit hours completed during the preceding semester.   


The Part-time Student Deans' List recognizes all part-time students who have earned a GPA of 3.5 or better in 6-11 credit hours completed during the preceding semester, excluding CR grades.  The academic success of these top students is acknowledged with a certificate and notation on the student's official transcript.

All changes to your class schedule need to be made PRIOR to the second class meeting and cleared by your advisor.

Immunization Requirements

There are two NY State public health laws affecting college students enrolled in 6 or more credits. The first requires students to demonstrate proof of immunity against measles, mumps, and rubella.  The second requires the college to provide students with information about meningococcal meningitis and also requires the student to acknowledge receipt of this information and indicate his/her choice regarding vaccination. (Meningitis vaccination is not mandatory, although the response form is mandatory).

Failure to comply will result in a $25 fine and administrative withdrawal from the college.
Smoking Regulations

 

JCC prohibits smoking and use of chewing tobacco and other tobacco products (including e-cigarettes) on all campus-owned grounds, including parking lots, and residence halls.

 

"Tobacco" is defined as all tobacco and tobacco-derived products intended for human consumption, including, but not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, hookah smoked products, clove cigarettes, black & mild, bidis, kreteks, electronic cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, and snus.

Certificate of Residency

All students residing in New York State are required to provide a valid Certificate of Residence each academic year in order to qualify for the in-state tuition rate. The Certificate of Residence application may be submitted to the business office no earlier than 60 days prior to the start of the semester, and no later than 30 days after the semester begins. Tuition for students who do not provide a valid Certificate of Residence will be calculated at the out-of-state rate. Financial  Responsibility 
Agreement

Registering for classes creates a financial obligation to the college. Registered students are required to complete a financial responsibility agreement (FRA) by January 8, 2016. Failure to submit the complete agreement will result in the student being dropped from all registered classes. The FRA may be completed by logging in to self-service banner and viewing the bill. For more information, click here

Buying Books:
  • Bring your class schedule to purchase textbooks to ensure that you are selecting the correct titles for your classes.
  • Accepted methods of payment: MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express, charges to third party agencies such as Chautauqua Works, VESID, VA, etc. (submit proper paperwork); credit to pending refunds; cash or check.
  • Book buyback takes place October through May. Check with the Campus Store(s) for specific dates and times.

Food Services and Vending

Food services are provided on the Jamestown campus for residential and commuter students. For part of the Spring 2016 semester the Jayhawk Café will be temporarily relocated to ARSC to accommodate major renovations to the serving and dining area in the Hamilton Collegiate Center.  Residential students can purchase flexible spending meal plans in the amounts of $1135, $950, or $660, and commuter students can purchase plans from $105 - $405 dollars. All plans have a $10 set-up fee included in the total. The meal plans provide tax-free dining in the café. Flexible J-Dollars can also be used in the Campus Store for snacks and drinks. The café offers a daily hot meal special, along with deli sandwiches, soups, salads, specialty bars, ice cream, and beverages. Grab 'n go breakfast sandwiches, cereal, yogurt, and fruit are also available.

The Cyber Cafe is adjacent to the Campus Cafe on the Jamestown Campus and provides Internet access to students in a cafe environment. 

Jayhawk Cafe hours are Monday- Thursday, (7:30 a.m.- 6 p.m.) and Friday from, (7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.).

Peer-2-Peer

Are you a first-year student?  Do you need extra support and guidance during your first semester at JCC?  Then sign up for our Peer-2-Peer program and get the help you need. The Peer-2-Peer program matches you with a student mentor who can help you navigate Banner, Blackboard, college Gmail, and other pesky computer applications.  In addition, your mentor can encourage you to make wise choices that will impact your academic and career decisions and help you achieve your goals.
