Midtown will be vacuuming up autumn leaves immediately following Thanksgiving. Certain blocks will be posted with "No Parking"  restrictions for a day to allow us quick and efficient access to the leaf-fall.

Election of At-Large Midtown Board Members

Midtown's Fall Town Hall Meeting will be hosted by the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation at its new facility at 1207 Eutaw Place.  Elections of our at-large community representatives for the 2014 year of the Midtown Board will take place, along with the presentation by the Midtown Development Corporation of awards for outstanding development work in our area.

 

Nominees to date are:

  • Bolton Hill - Joseph Palumbo
  • Charles North - Sergio Martinez
  • Madison Park - Brent Pertusio
  • Mount Vernon - Steven Shen

Nominations remain open and may be accepted on the floor if the candidate has been pre-qualified by the nominating committee as meeting the requirements as set forth in Midtown's by-laws.

MIDTOWN WELCOMES PAUL SHEPPARD

Public Safety Coordinator has many years' experience with Baltimore City Police

  

Paul Sheppard is Midtown's new public safety coordinator through our contract with BWI Management LLC, the firm that also supplies our off-duty police patrols.  Paul is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Baltimore Police Department after 31 years of law enforcement experience.

 

He has supervised numerous Units and Sections within BPD, including our own Central District, Homeland Security, and the Special Operations Section. He is credited with reducing crime in the Central District as the District Commander and as the Special Operations Commander was responsible for the planning and supervision of All Special Events within the City including Presidential Visits,

Preakness, ArtScape, Baltimore Marathon, 4th of July, New Year's Eve, and Stadium Events. Here at Midtown Paul is supervising our off-duty police patrols, facilitate citizens-on-patrol groups, support our initiative to improve street lighting, and interface with the Baltimore City Police Department and City Watch.
