PUBLIC NOTICE Design Public Hearing Route 7/Belmont Ridge Road Interchange Loudoun County Thursday, February 23, 2012 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Seldens Landing Elementary School Gymnasium 43345 Coton Commons Drive, Leesburg, VA 20176 The Loudoun County Office of Transportation Services (OTS) is holding a Design Public Hearing on the Route 7/Belmont Ridge Road (Route 659) Interchange Project.
The staff would like to hear your comments on the proposed project. The proposal is to improve the existing intersection of Route 7 and Belmont Ridge Road (Route 659) to a grade-separated interchange. Additionally, a one-mile section of Route 659 is proposed to be improved with realignment, widening, and the elimination of substandard horizontal and vertical geometry.
The purpose of the proposed project is to improve traffic flow in the area and to alleviate the traffic delays at the intersection of Route 7 and Belmont Ridge Road. A Draft Environmental Assessment addressing the project described above was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and FHWA's Environmental Impact and Related Procedures (23 CFR 771).
Interested parties are invited to review the proposed project conceptual plans and the Draft Environmental Assessment at the public hearing or at the Government Center Building, Loudoun County, Office of Transportation Services, 1 Harrison Street SE, 4th Floor, P.O. Box 7000, MSC #69, Leesburg, VA, 20177-7000. In compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 106 and 36 CFR Part 800, information concerning the potential effects of the proposed improvements on properties listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places will also be available at the hearing and at the Government Center Building at the previously specified address.
In addition to the Public Hearing, a preliminary project schedule, property impact information, right of way policies, and the Draft Environmental Assessment will be made available for review and comment 15-days prior to the Public Hearing and for 30 days after the Public Hearing at the above address; the Ashburn Library 43316 Hay Road, Ashburn; as well as the Thomas Balch Library 208 W.
