It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Wednesday, August 1st will be the last day Sunlight of the Spirit Yoga Studio will be open.
In the almost five years we've been in business, we've grown into an amazing community. Your presence and support is, and has always been, greatly appreciated.
As we announced some time ago, our building is going to be torn down, along with several neighboring buildings, and a Wawa will be built. For several months I searched unsuccessfully for comparable space. The commercial real estate market is very different than it was five years ago. When I opened Sunlight, I was married with two children living at home. Now I'm a widow with an empty nest. I found myself weighing taking on the challenge of running a studio in a space I didn't love the way I love the current space, with a significantly increased overhead, against the prospect of reshaping my future. It was a very difficult decision to make, and I deeply mourn the upcoming loss.
The instructors and I would love the next few months to be a real celebration of the time we've spent together. We're hopeful that you will participate in as many classes as you can in the time we remain open.
Toward the end of July, we'll send out information about where you can attend classes with our instructors and how you can stay in touch with them. Our community is not disappearing, it's evolving.
Going forward, we will no longer be selling class packages. We're reducing the drop in rate from $20 to $18, so you can continue to obtain the discount without the commitment.
For those of you have Memberships, we'll prorate the final charge based on the day your autopay is scheduled to be processed. All Memberships will be set to terminate on the day we close and priced accordingly.
Sunlight opened on a Wednesday, and we've chosen Wednesday as our last day of classes. That day, rather than Basics, the 6pm class will be Gentle and I'll teach it myself. Both that class and the 7:30 Flow class will include live music with the wonderful Anthony Carrera.
It's my intention that Sunlight be an oasis of positive energy until the very end.
The teachers, desk staff, and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support through this transition time. You are very dear to us, and we hope to see many of you frequently over the next few months. Collectively we have such a wonderful community. It's been a true gift to share this space with you, a delight getting to know you, and an honor to serve you.
With deepest gratitude,
