March 13, 2018

On March 13, 2018 during student arrival, district administration received a report involving a potential concern on social media.  The police department was contacted immediately and began an investigation. The social media post involved a non-specific threat by an unidentified source.  At this time, the police are working to identify the source and determine the legitimacy and immediacy of the potential threat to determine if there is a specific threat against any of our Burlington Township Schools.

The students and parents who reported the concern to district officials are to be commended.  This quick notification allowed the school district to reassure the students involved and their families that the situation was being handled.

Be assured that school safety and security are a top priority of the Burlington Township School District and the Burlington Township Police Department.  All appropriate protocols and procedures are being followed to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Extra patrols were present this morning for student arrival and will be present for dismissal as well.

While this threat is being investigated, the district and police department continue to coordinate our efforts and will have additional security at all schools.

Thank you to our caring, informed community.  See something, hear something, view something, SAY SOMETHING.
