Meeting Agenda
What is HiAP?

HiAP - Health in All Policies - is a collaborative approach to improving the health of all people by incorporating health considerations into decision-making across sectors and policy areas. The Planning Commission, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health - Hillsborough County, Office of Health Equity and the Hillsborough Metropolitan Planning Organization, is leading the project. The Planning Commission was awarded a 2016-2017 Planning Technical Assistance grant through the Department of Economic Development, to review the City of Tampa's Comprehensive Plan related to HiAP with a focus on food access in the Terrace Park|University Square community. The goals of the project are to:
  • identify existing health related goals in the Imagine 2040 : Tampa Comprehensive Plan and focus on food access initiatives examples from other places
  • engage the community in discussion of Comprehensive Plan direction for HiAP initiatives addressing healthy, affordable food access
  • discuss the need and location of a potential community garden site in the Terrace Park | University Square community.
