Your team at UFCW 1776KS continues fighting to ensure that all worksites across our Local are safe and, this week, I am very happy to report that Governor Tom Wolf has acted on many of our recommendations. Earlier this week, the Governor and Secretary of Health Rachel Levine
announced a new order that provides greater protections and measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Among many provisions, the order establishes protocols to help employees maintain a social distance during work; requires employers to provide masks for employees and to stagger work start and stop times. The order includes specific steps employers must take in the event of an exposure to a person who is a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19.
Governor Wolf also announced this week a
“Plan for Pennsylvania” that will allow for a “safe and expedient reopening” of the state. We are thankful that the Governor continues to support workers throughout this crisis, and we keep working with the administration as we move forward.
