ExecutiveDirectorMessage from Executive Director Christie Brown

We are making some improvements to our process, inventory organization and our pick-up schedule. PLEASE NOTE that if you return later for a product pick-up, you will need to come between 12:30 and 3:30. This will enable our warehouse staff to be focused on our current customers, as well as better and quicker processing of new donations. We thank you in advance for your understanding and adherence to this new policy.

We've made some changes to our Young Professionals program, and agencies selected to participate will have a team of YPs working on their projects. More details below, and deadline for online applications is April 30.

We give a shout-out to NS Cares with congrats for winning $10K in the Brackets for Good fundraising tournament. This fundraiser is unusual in that it gives even smaller agencies a chance to win big!

Lots of other exciting things happening, so keep reading -- and then take a break and go outside to enjoy this beautiful spring weather!

Thank you for your partnership,

Christie Brown

Important Change to Pick-up Schedule

As we grow and provide more products to our members, we need our warehouse staff to have block time for processing donations, stocking and moving inventory, and other warehouse work. Therefore we are changing our policy on product pick-ups.

Effective immediately, pickups should be done between 12:30-3:30 only, Monday-Friday. Please remember to bring enough help to load your own vehicle, as we need our staff for warehouse work. If you will need assistance loading, you should contact us in advance for scheduling and loading fees. Shoppers who are taking their products with them will continue to have immediate access to our dock or front entrance for loading.
YPsService Help - Applications Open!

We are kicking off a new and improved year of On-the-Rise Young Professionals to provide service to selected agencies. This year we will concentrate efforts on three types of projects:
  • Nonprofit operations/finance
  • Event planning/Development/Fundraising
  • Marketing
Talented and driven young professionals selected for the program will receive training and learn about each agency's mission, and then provide service work on the selected project. We will have fewer agencies chosen this year and  YPs will work in teams on a project for the agencies selected for the program.

Through this program, we hope to educate the young professionals on the needs of our nonprofit community, and to encourage lasting relationships which may result in more knowledgeable candidates for nonprofit committees, board members, long-term volunteers and supporters.

To apply, complete the short online application survey by April 30

Elsa Heisel Sule Foundation
The Elsa Heisel Sule Foundation paid a visit to ReSource in January, and followed-up with a grant award to fund new computers and technology for our office and warehouse. This should result in quicker customer check-out and improved services. We are also looking into how we can utilize available technology for better inventory control and more consistent admin fees on products. We thank the Sule Foundation for their generous support!

Good360Good360 Circle of Good

We recently received this award from our partners at Good360. They are the nonprofit in Alexandria, VA that works with us to bring products from national retailers like Walmart, Home Depot, Crate and Barrel, Bed, Bath & Beyond and others to our nonprofit community. We hope to provide even more "Goods for the Greater Good" to our local community in the coming months, with an expanded "General Store" of products to benefit your agencies and those you serve.

NC CARES
Congratulations to all the agencies who participated in this year's "tournament" -- especially to NS Cares, who won the $10,000 grand prize. But each agency was a winner through the funds and awareness they were able to raise through this fun fundraiser.

We were proud to have a hand in bringing BFG to Cincinnati, and also very proud of our city's response:
  • Over $185,000 raised for area charities!
  • 10,000 views of agency "stat sheets" helped raise awareness of participating agency's missions and work.
  • Over 30% of donors were new to the organization to which they contributed.
We are already looking forward to next year, building on this year's success. Registration is already open for next year's tournament! BFG 2018 Registration
