March 16, The Bible Players

We'll begin with a family-friendly service at 5:30 p.m.  A casual Shabbat Dinner will follow for those who reserve by 10:00 a.m. on March 15. After, everyone is invited to join us for The Bible Players , beginning at 6:45 p.m. 

Traditional Kabbalat Shabbat Service: In addition to our earlier service, a traditional service will take place at 6:15 p.m. 

March 17, Shabbat services begin at 9:30 a.m.

This week's Torah portion is  Parashat Vayikra.

Havdalah: 7:48 p.m.

When a Jew dies, a burial group known as the 
chevrah kadisha  (holy society) prepares the body for interment. Our tradition views the members of a  chevrah kadisha  to be praiseworthy especially since so many are reluctant to participate in this mitzvah. A member of San Diego's  chevrah kadisha,  Doris Jaffe, will join us to offer insight and answer your questions. Click here for details and to RSVP.
The Butterfly Project        
April 8, 10:00 a.m.  
The Butterfly Project uses the lessons of the Holocaust to educate about the dangers of hatred and bigotry. 

All of our members and friends are invited to participate in this world-wide effort. In addition to painting butterflies, representatives from The Butterfly Project will be on site sharing information as well as the newly released film NOT the Last Butterfly.

You Must RSVP to Reserve Your Butterfly

ADL'S Walk  Against Hate
April 15, 8:30 a.m.
Join our TIS team as part of this community-wide event bringing people together to stand up against bigotry and celebrate diversity. Everyone is invited to join us!  The Walk is kid-friendly and features activities to keep everyone entertained! Learn more now
