An Unbroken Bond by Edie Lutnick
On September 11th, 658 men and women at Cantor Fitzgerald found themselves trapped together in One World Trade Center and none would make it out alive. Among them was Edie Lutnick's brother Gary, whom she had raised when their parents died at an early age. This is the story of the victims, the families and how they came together bonded by a tragic fate. But the story doesn't end there...read more.
All proceeds of An Unbroken Bond go to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund. Lutnick's book can be purchased at cantorrelief.org, amazon.com, and barnesandnoble.com. |

Dear Tuesday's Children Friends and Supporters,
There is always something special about a Leap Year - that gift of an extra day holds such promise! Here at Tuesday's Children we are full of promise and "leaping" into 2012 with even more programs and services for the children and families we serve.
We are especially pleased to be continuing our partnership with Warner Bros. and Stephen Daldry, the three-time Academy Award nominated and Tony Award winning director. Stephen recently joined Tuesday's Children's Board of Directors, and we could not be more pleased. During the film of the Oscar-nominated Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Stephen took extraordinary measures to ensure an accurate and sensitive portrayal of those affected on September 11, 2001 and developed a close relationship with Tuesday's Children, its staff and families. Warner Bros. made a generous gift to Tuesday's Children and provided a benefit screening for our donors and supporters. Most importantly, Stephen and Warner Bros. also arranged for additional screenings solely for our family members, providing a safe and private environment for those who wished to see the film.
You will read more about the Warner Bros. partnership and many other activities in this issue of Tuesday's News, including a high-flying day at Trapeze School for National Mentoring Month and a recently held Family Guidance Seminar for 9/11 families.
Of course spring will be here before we know it and it looks to be a busy and productive season at Tuesday's Children. This week, a group of our young people is heading to Austin, TX to spend their winter break volunteering with Habitat for Humanity through our Helping Heals program. We are also preparing for our annual Take Our Children to Work Day on April 26, which looks to be the largest in the event's 10-year history.
There is always much more happening so be sure to visit our calendar for a complete list of programs and fundraising events for 2012.
As always, we are grateful for your friendship and look forward to your continued support.

Tuesday's Children hosted a parenting seminar at the North Shore Child and Family Guidance on February 15, 2012. Toni Kolb-Papetti, LCSW discussed ways in which parents could strengthen their parenting skills by learning to identify at-risk behaviors and when to intervene.
