The Rev. Eson Y.S. Tse

April 30, 1925 - February 14, 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of the Rev. Eson Y.S. Tse (father of our presbytery's controller, Ruling Elder James Tse).  Rev. Tse was born in  Canton, China.  He emigrated from Hong Kong where he was in ministry with the Chinese community.

Rev. Tse served the First Chinese Presbyterian Church in Chinatown from 1964 through 1979. He then organized a second Chinese Presbyterian Church in New York City Presbytery that became the Queens Chinese Presbyterian Church in Rego Park. Rev. Tse retired from active ministry in 1987.

He is survived by his second wife Helen, his three sons, Peter, James, John and his first wife.

A private service and internment will take place this week, with a Memorial Moment offered at the May 19, 2015 Presbytery Meeting.

Condolences may be sent to his widow Helen Tse at 90-11 Northern Blvd, Unit 611, Jackson Heights, NY 11372.
