In Motion - April 24
Live Day by Day - Meaningful Mediation

Audrey Isenor lead a discussion about elder mediation. This private, informal, supportive and non-confrontational nature of mediation is particularly well suited to these types of discussions and to the older adults involved in them.

Thanks for the good times!!!
We had a great send off today for Devon, Wesley and Jonathan who finish their internship with the Pickering Soccer Club this Friday. All three have been helping with our In Motion program since we started in January. They have been a huge part of the success of this program and we are sad to see them leave.

We successfully managed to keep today's event a secret from all three! Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Pot Luck ! We had such an amazing assortment of food and desserts.Thank you to everyone who contributed to their good bye gift. They each received a $50.00 Visa gift card, a can of "Hop City Lounge-chair " beer, some chocolates and a card with everyone's name who contributed.

We will continue to see Jonathan in the program but extend our well wishes to Wesley and Devon.

Announcements
We are happy to welcome Cameron Clephan as a Volunteer to our In Motion program.

Cameron is by far one of the most impressive young individuals living in the Durham Region today. His natural athletic ability and love for sports has only been nurtured by his community and by the individuals in it. Cameron is a competitive swimmer and has competed in OFSAA 3 times placing each time with 1 silver and 2 bronzes. Now Cameron is currently competing in the front crawl, breaststroke and butterfly for the Special Olympics swim team in Toronto. He also competes in basketball and baseball for the Durham Special Olympics and has countless medals to show for it.

Cameron’s success as an athlete has him rubbing shoulders with many sports legends including his hockey hero Sidney Crosby, Kurt Browning, Marc Andre Fleurry, James Neil, Walter Gretzky, Tie Domi, the entire 2000 Toronto Maple Leafs team and countless others.
Last year Cameron got to meet both 2017 Alumni Hockey Teams when he was chosen to drop the puck because of his athletic accomplishments in The Special Olympics.

Currently Cameron is enrolled in The Personal Support Worker Program and Community Integration through Co-Operative Education at Durham College.

All Abilities Program
The All Abilities soccer program offers all children and youth with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, an opportunity to learn and play soccer.
The All Abilities team strives for an inclusive environment where no child is noticed for their disability, rather, their enormous abilities shine.
Our program is fully inclusive, designed and adapted for children with any disability or level of behaviour. Whether they use a wheelchair, walker or wear orthotics, or live with an intellectual, communication (ASD) or developmental disability, we provide support (1:1 as needed) and welcome all on the field.
The three pillars of our program are FUN, FRIENDS, and FITNESS!
