Latino Service Providers' E-newsletters consist of vital infor­mation that is relevant to the Latino community. Our goal is to increase cultural competency, and help advocate for Latinos in Sonoma County. LSP partici­pates in a variety of community events and educational programs that serve the Latino population.
Mental Health Matters Month  is a time to help raise the community's awareness about mental health and wellness and encourage people to support others around them. Encourage everyone to reach out, speak up, take part and join the movement this May!

Cascada de Flores will perform a bilingual, family-friendly program of traditional music and dance that speaks of the diversity in Mexico. All ages are invited to sing, dance, and play with the spirited characters of Mexican folklore.  This event is free!

Dear Catholic Charities Volunteers,
Because you are a valued Catholic Charities Volunteer, you are invited to participate in the fifth learning series that we're offering. This opportunity will give you the chance to learn more about skills and tools to assist up-set, or agitated clients. This training will focus on Best Practices for De-Escalation  in our community.
 
Join Catholic Charities' own Jim Bennett as he discusses some basic understanding of the causes for escalated behavior, what part we may play in escalating clients, some ways to prevent clients from becoming escalated and some strategies that you can use to try to work with clients to help them calm down, maintain a working relationship, cope with their feelings and together, with clients problem solve as a team how to improve their situation wherever possible. Finally provide strategies to not get entangled with conversations and behavior that are unproductive. You'll learn to manage self-care in a way that keeps you safe and positive in all aspects of your work and life.
 
Volunteer training's are a great way for you to meet other staff and volunteers of Catholic Charities and to learn more about all of our programs.
 
We promise this training will be as fun as it is informative! This training is open to all!

Position Summary
Directs operations for programs provided through the YWCA Sonoma County. Provides leadership, supervision and training to the management, programming and volunteer staff. Oversees the planning, implementation and evaluation of agency programs. Expands and strengthens a positive community image and develops staff and volunteers in a manner that reflects the vision, mission and goals of the YWCA Sonoma County. Contributes to grant administration and the financial management of YWCA programs.
Prerequisite Qualifications
The candidate must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for employment in this position:
  • Five (5) years' experience in a human service setting
  • Three (3) years' experience supervising multiple staff
  • Two (2) years' experience with program development in a social service setting
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred
  • First aid and CPR certificates a plus
  • Prior to employment, obtain fingerprint clearance and pass TB testing
  • Prior to employment, must pass pre-employment physical and drug test
  • Valid CA driver's license and current auto insurance

Intro:Event Services Aides assist with events at the Veterans Memorial Buildings located in Cotati, Guerneville, Petaluma, and Sonoma. Job duties may include:
  • Setting up furniture and other event-related equipment
  • Preparing rooms for events held at the facilities
  • Working with facility occupants during events
  • Cleaning, rearranging facilities, and other custodial work related to events
  • Performing a variety of customer service-related functions
Event Services Aides work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as determined by the events scheduled at the facility and the needs of the department. An applicant's flexibility in work days and work hours is highly desirable and may be a factor in hiring decisions. Work locations may vary due to different building locations.

for Full-Time Employment with Benefits.  Disability Services & Legal Center is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, established in 1976 to advance the rights of persons with disabilities to equal justice, access, opportunity and participation in our communities. DSLC serves over 2,000 people with disabilities annually, providing resources and assistance on a wide range of disability-related matters. The organization has offices in Santa Rosa, Ukiah and Napa, and serves Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and Lake Counties.

Office Duties:
Answer incoming phone calls, retrieve phone messages, greet consumers and visitors, refer calls to the appropriate staff person, and notify staff of appointments.
Provide assistance and support to the Executive Director and Program staff when appropriate.
To maintain an inventory of office supplies and ordering/distributing.
To assist the paralegal in monitoring the legal filing.
Assist local volunteer attorneys with clerical needs.
Keep track of office staff appointments and assist those as needed.

Must Have:
Fluent Spanish and English capabilities.
Knowledge of and sensitivity toward persons with disabilities.
Ability to follow directions with accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, while maintaining attention to detail.

Specifically the Youth Manager will oversee LandPaths' In Our Own BackYard, Inspired Forward, Summer Camps and other youth-based programs through strategic goal setting, planning and evaluation. The Youth Manager will maintain program excellence including relevance with the communities we engage, changing educational standards and other youth-related needs in-school, after-school, and summer programs, for example: youth development through strength-based approaches, Next Generation Science Standards, Common Core, and California Environment and Education Initiative.
