Upcoming CE Courses
Forensic Social Work: Focus on Subpoenas and Testimony
(2 Non-Clinical, Ethics CEUs)
November 18, 2015 from 6:30-8:00 pm in North Brunswick
Presenters: Kathryn Dixon, LCSW, FACFEI & Alexandra Coglianese, LSW, Esq.

This course is designed to explore the legal "do's" and "don'ts" in an effort to empower clinicians who find themselves on the receiving end of a subpoena. While it is possible that a social worker can receive a subpoena relative to a Complaint waged against the social work practitioner directly, most frequently the social worker's receipt of a subpoena will be relative to the client's own legal matters.

Participants will increase their understanding of the three different types of subpoenas, the proper response to a subpoena, and what to do/not do if required to produce documents and/or testimony in response to a subpoena.

For those licensed in NY: NASW New Jersey Chapter SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0138.
