NASW has posted an updated version of its Standards of Social Work Practice in Health Care Settings. The standards will give social workers the knowledge to give effective care in the Affordable Care Act era.  This is a resource based on the consensus of expert health care social workers from across the county and is designed to enhance social workers' knowledge to work effectively in health care settings, within the current context of the health care environment.

License Renewal
Good News About Renewing Your Social Work License

If you've been having trouble renewing your license or certification, there's good news. The Board of Social Work Examiners (BSWE) has extended the date for renewal to September 30, 2016.

Click here to read the full ALERT on the top of the BSWE Web site. If you're still having problems, do not try to call the BSWE office because the renewal Web site is managed by the Division of Consumer Affairs (DCA). If you've tried to renew on the Web site at least 3 times without success, please call the DCA at 973.273.8001.

When you finish renewing, you will be able to print out a receipt/confirmation that you have paid. Be sure to print and keep this receipt so you will have proof that you have renewed.

NASW and Commission for Case Manager Certification Forge New Agreement

An agreement reached between NASW and the Commission for Case Manager Certification enables social workers who qualify for the NASW case management credential to pre-qualify for the CCM® certification exam for the same fee.
