NASW Takes a Stand on
Important Issues

NASW has issued a statement calling for the repeal or veto of anti-LGBT legislation in several states. Recent laws passed in North Carolina, Mississippi, and Tennessee are discriminatory and violate the NASW Code of Ethics. We join in protesting such bills. For the full statement and a summary of the recent laws visit the link above.

In addition, NASW California Chapter Executive Director Janlee Wong and President Catharine J.  Ralph recently released a statement regarding the indictment of four Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services employees  They call the indictment a "blame game" and state that instead we should be focusing on reform of the child welfare system to ensure the best care of children.
