NYMC Unveils New Radiology Suite and Anatomage Table

On May 16, NYMC celebrated the dedication of the new Radiology Suite and Anatomage Table, located in the Basic Sciences Building, next to the Health Sciences Library. It features state-of-the-art tools and modalities that allow for the virtual study of anatomy. Hosted by Susan Rachlin, M.D., associate professor of clinical radiology and associate dean for student affairs, and Matthew Pravetz, O.F.M., Ph.D. '88, associate professor of cell biology and anatomy and course director in gross anatomy, the event included an overview of the facility's equipment and a demonstration of the interactive human dissection table. "This dedicated space and extraordinary equipment is providing us with new means to reinforce and advance our students' anatomy education and help them remember and use what they learned in their first-year gross anatomy study," said Dr. Rachlin. This year's 28th Annual Convocation of Thanks, held on May 13, was an opportunity for medical students in the Class of 2019 to humbly express their infinite and heartfelt gratitude for those donors whom they affectionately and respectfully refer to as their "first patients." It was standing room only in Nevins Auditorium filled with families and friends of the donors. View the Convocation of Thanks photo gallery here. Read more...
