Work Opportunity Tax Credit
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit is a federal tax incentive program for businesses hiring individuals who face significant barriers to employment. Seneca County is designated a rural renewal community meaning employers can take advantage of the tax credit for any employee that is a county resident age 18-39. The designation is evaluated yearly, so you should verify if new hires fall under another "target group." The credit is currently in hiatus, but applications are still being accepted. Employers must apply within 28 days of the hire date.
