Ind. Bill Enables Three Rivers Distilling to Open Tasting Room Sooner

Three Rivers Distilling Company will not have to wait three years to bring a craft spirits tasting room to the city of Fort Wayne. House Bill 1496, authored by Rep. Ben Smaltz, changes the Artisan Distiller’s Permit language to state “…that an applicant for an artisan distiller’s permit must hold a farm winery, brewer’s or distiller’s permit for 18 months (instead of three years) before the date of the application.” (The Drinkable Globe)

Georgia’s Dalton Distillery Launches Sunflower Spirit

Four Colorado Distilleries Collaborate on Rye Project

N.C. Distillery Revives Old Nick Williams Whiskey 

A Lewisville, N.C. spirits producer is reviving a centuries-old family tradition and making whiskey on the family farm. Old Nick Williams Co. makes a clear whiskey and a bourbon. The distillery, at 2675 Williams Road, will have its grand opening this weekend with tours, tastings and more. (Winston-Salem Journal)

Jersey City, N.J.’s First Distillery Opens This Month    

Jersey City’s first distillery, Corgi Spirits, is opening at the end of June and will soon release two locally distilled gins and one vodka. (Jersey Digs)

Politician Argues That Regulations Hindering NYC Craft Spirits Boom
Regulations are standing between New York City and a craft-beverage boom, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams argues in a new report. The state has eased rules for alcohol producers in recent years, but those based in the five boroughs face particular challenges, such as fire code compliance and waste disposal, the report says. Petersburg, Va.’s Trapezium Brewery Adds Still, Plans Brandy Rollout

As it celebrates its one-year anniversary, Petersburg’s first craft brewery is growing westward, and has found a taste for booze of a different sort. Trapezium Brewing Co. is preparing to open a satellite taproom in Bedford, Virginia, while also adding a brandy still to its flagship facility at 423 Third St. in Petersburg. (Richmond BizSense)  

Du Nord Craft Spirits to Run Bar at Minneapolis Food Hall

Buoyed by a $500,000 grant from Hennepin County and the state of Minnesota, the food hall will include at least one full-service restaurant as an anchor tenant and a rectangular bar in the middle of the 16,500-square-foot space, which Du Nord Craft Spirits will operate. (StarTribune)

St. Augustine Distillery Hires Full-Time Marketing Manager 

St. Augustine Distillery has hired a full-time marketing manager to help strengthen ties in the north Florida market. Katie Hannon spent the last four years at Breakthru Beverage Group and had worked with the distillery previously from a distribution standpoint, handling account development, maintaining beverage programs and planning events to raise brand awareness.
