Summer Worship Series continues with Bishop Richard Wilke
July 3, 2011 The 2011 Lake Junaluska Summer Worship Series, "The World is My Parish," continues this Sunday, July 3, in Stuart Auditorium. Bishop Richard Wilke, the current Bishop in Residence at Southwestern College in Kansas, will serve as guest preacher. "We are excited to host this prominent United Methodist Bishop as our guest preacher for the summer series," said Dr. Jack Ewing, Executive Director of Lake Junaluska. "The Bishop's sermon topic, "A Famine in the Land," appeals for a resurgence of the historic Wesley class meetings to help new Christians discover deeper faith. Bishop Wilke's appeal to the roots of faith fits nicely with our Wesleyan-themed series, "The World is my Parish," a line attributed to John Wesley, one of the founders of Methodism."
