Have You Registered for Fall?

We are beginning to put together our Family Information packets for Fall 2015. (Yes, already!) These materials will be sent out around July 15 and will contain your school calendar and handbook, class supply lists, several forms we'll need before your child can start school, and a few other goodies.

If you haven't already registered for Fall, please be sure to get your application and registration fee in as soon as possible. Teachers are already beginning to think about September, and knowing who is going to be in class really helps with planning!

We are also still accepting scholarship applications. Both registration and scholarship forms are available on the website. If you would like a paper copy sent in your family packet, email by July 10.

Summer Camp

During June, we welcomed more than eighty students for our first three camps of the summer. We have one more camp coming up in August, Back-to-School Barefoot Boot Camp. Contact the office to sign up

Read on to see what families are saying about BMS summer camp!

Sensational, Secret Hideouts Camp

"My son loves BMS. He told me he wished it was a boarding school so he could stay all the time. Either school or camp, it is hard to get him to leave at the end of the day." -- Rissy Berliner

Big, Messy Art Camp

"It was just like camp should be...fun, laid back, great activities (all age appropriate) with a friendly and spirited staff. All with a little bit of education snuck in." -- Darbi Jewell

Fantastical Outdoor Creations Camp

"This was precisely the kind of camp we'd been looking for for our daughter, who is very art- and nature-oriented. Seeing how involved she became in the preparation of the Fairy Playground was very satisfying!" -- Nick Kocz

Festival of Colors

As a part of the Mountains of Music Homecoming, Blue Mountain School recently hosted a Festival of Colors. Known as Holi in India, where the celebration originates, the festival traditionally marks the start of spring and celebrates love and friendship and the putting aside of differences. Holi is also where the now well-known activity of color-throwing originated.

For more about our Festival of Colors, read the article that was published on July 2 in The Floyd Press.

Free Summer Play Group

Now that summer is officially in full swing, Blue Mountain School will be starting a play group to offer area families an opportunity to gather and connect with other families from our community.
The group will meet each Monday from 10:00 to noon, on the BMS campus.

For more information, please read the article on our blog. We'll see you there!

See you at Floyd Fest!

Going to Floyd Fest this month? Be sure to visit the Children's Universe, where Blue Mountain School is running the information booth and providing child care! (We'll also be offering child care at Yoga Jam at the end of summer.)

Registering your kids in the BMS Child Care is a fun and safe way for your whole family to enjoy the festival. Kids will have access to fun, age-appropriate activities in a secure environment while the grown ups attend concerts or meet with friends.

In addition to crafts, music, and games, there will be a quiet space for kids to relax and read or draw. In the evenings, there will be movie time and story telling.
