Illinois NPDES Permit

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has made a tentative determination to reissue NPDES General Permit No. ILR10 for the discharge of storm water associated with industrial activity from construction sites into waters of the US. This Permit covers all areas of the State of Illinois.

The Public Notice Ending Date for the draft was March 15, 2018.

If the permit reissues as is currently written, the permit specifies that inspections shall be conducted by qualified personnel (provided by the permittee). Two (2) of ECI’s certifications are considered Qualified personnel for inspections; CPESC and CESSWI .

If you are interested in learning more about these, or other ECI Professional Certifications, please visit our website .
EPA Stormwater Toolkit
The EPA is in the process of developing a web-based Stormwater Toolkit to assist communities with the long-term stormwater planning process provided in the Community Solutions for Stormwater Management Guide.
The landing page of the Stormwater Toolkit begins to walk users through developing a long-term stormwater plan. It lists the "elements" of the plan that correspond with those found in the Guide.
Please visit the EPA website for more information about the web-based Stormwater Toolkit or the Community Solutions for Stormwater Management Guide.
