We'll be leaving for Indianapolis this evening.  Our display at Saturday's 'Day Before the 500' Memorabilia Show at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will feature a special collection of 1950s crew uniforms worn by Chuck Blanchard, who wrenched at Indianapolis during the 1950s and 1960s, notably on George Salih's 1958 500 winning Belond AP Special Laydown Offy Roadster driven by Jimmy Bryan.

Other memorabilia from the Blanchard Collection, including race programs, ticket stubs and other interesting items will also be part of our display. A few of the items are pictured below:

1958 Indianapolis 500 - Winner Jimmy Bryan leads Rookie of the Year George Amick and Tony Bettenhausen, all in 'Laydown' Roadsters. (52" x 34")

1951 Indianapolis 500 Pace Lap (43" x 33")

As usual, our display will feature a selection of 1/43 and 1/18 scale miniatures, books, DVDs, and artwork. from our Gallery.

Highlights include a Paul Newman signed copy of Alan Fearnley's 'IndyCar Champion', also signed by Nigel Mansell and Carl Haas, and a framed pair of Michael Turner's 1965 Jim Clark tribute prints - Jim Clark, Indianapolis Champion and Jim Clark, Perfect Score - commissioned by The Motorsport Collector to commemorate Clark's victories in the Indianapolis 500 and the Formula One World Championship in the same year, the only driver ever to accomplish that feat.

We've learned that Michael Turner's original painting of 'Jim Clark, Indianapolis Champion' has just become available. Contact me for details.

Also, author Jade Gurss will be on hand to sign copies of his highly acclaimed book 'Beast' from 10am to 11am.

'Beast' is the inside story of the Mercedes engine that carried Al Unser Jr. to victory in the 1994 Indianapolis 500. The controversial design was developed in secret by Ilmor Engineering exclusively for Penske Racing.  You can reserve a signed copy HERE .
