Wheel of Life
Condolences to Marian Forte and her family, on the death November 1 of her mother Helen Pecharich Langworthy, age 101.  Rev. Peebles is conducting a memorial service November 10, at Culpepper Garden, where Helen spent her last years.

Condolences to Erica Woods, Dan Fish, and their families, on the death of their mother Emily Fish.  Emily and her husband Stephen, who predeceased her, were active members of UUCA since 1951.  Emily served as member of the Day Alliance, worked on auctions and other activities, and they were both active members of CLAMS (the Chatter, Laughter & Munching Society) for many years.  Even after she could no longer make it to UUCA events, she very much appreciated the Day Alliance sending her cards over the years.  Emily died November 2 at Goodwin House, Alexandria, at the age of 104.

Condolences to Alek Jovovic and Monique Doussard, and their family, on the recent death of Alek's father,  Dragos Jovovic.
Thank you to everyone for another successful AUCTION!

Congratulations to our intrepid auction team (led by Kate Gallup and Tom O'Reilly) and all those who came for the 2016 Auction!  The bidding was lively, the food was excellent, and almost all had a good time (sorry for those who didn't win their bids!!).   Rob Albro, our auctioneer for the evening, was successful in pulling  $28,000 from our wallets during the live auction.  UUCA again showed its support by pledging $9,500 for the Dreamers and $5,800 for Guatemala scholarships!  While still in review, it looks like we raised about $30,000 for UUCA!!!  Thanks to all the volunteers, bidders, and donors -- see you for the Treasures Hunt on April 29 and next year's auction!
