"The Americans is set in the early 1980s, when Intellivision was the hottest new thing in video game technology and the KGB touched base with agents in the field using radio signals and Morse code."

"We try to include cultural references," says series creator Joe Weisberg. "Leo Buscaglia was such a big figure then. He was at his zenith. There's a story line later that deals with Soviet Jewry. Intellivision will play a role."
