Truong was honored with the Anti-Defamation League's
prestigious honor for his work with the Los Angeles Police Department and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, to oust gang members from San Fernando Valley homes that were reportedly havens for drug and weapons trafficking.

IN MEMORIAM
Ed Halbach (Walter Perry Johnson Professor of Law, Emeritus) passed away earlier this month. Ed came to UC Berkeley law school as a visiting Associate Professor in 1959, was named full professor in 1962, and served as Dean from 1966-1975. Ed's family invites the Berkeley Law community to a memorial service in his honor on Saturday, July 1 at 2 p.m., at the University Club at California Memorial Stadium, 2227 Piedmont Ave, Berkeley.

June 13: FVAP Battle of the Lawyer Bands —The Family Violence Appellate Project, a Bay Area non-profit started by Boalt alumni to help survivors of intimate partner violence appeal their cases, is hosting its annual "Banding Together to End Domestic Violence" battle of the bands on June 13 at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles. Seven bands will go head-to-head in an epic battle for the coveted title: Best Lawyer Band in LA. Though the competition is fierce, these rockstar attorneys will band together to help raise over $175,000 for California survivors of domestic violence. Click here for more info and to buy tickets.
