BE A BOARD MEMBER!! 
  
Interested in joining the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council? We are looking for a new board member!

Our longtime North Atwater Resident Representative, Alex Ventura, has left the board to pursue new opportunities, which means we have an open seat for our North Atwater Resident Representative. 

Interested parties must meet  these requirements: 

A stakeholder who resides in the North Atwater Area (renter or owner) and is 16 years or older.  The new board member will hold that seat until the next Atwater Village Neighborhood Council(AVNC) elections  in Spring 2016. The new board member can run for re-election of their seat at that point. 

Board members are expected to participate at AVNC Board of Governor meetings (second Thursday evening of ever month), on board committees, and support the overall efforts of the neighborhood council. 

Any interested parties should email their interest by 7 pm on Monday, July 6th to the Board Secretary, Karen Knapp at [email protected]. The candidates shall attend the July 9th board meeting to make a statement as to why  they would like to join the board. 

The candidate selection process on July 9th will be done in the following manner as outlined by the AVNC bylaws

(Article V, Section 6C):  If only one (1) Stakeholder has made application for a vacant seat, then a vote of the Board shall be taken and  the applicant installed by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Board. If more than one (1) Stakeholder has made an  application for an empty seat, then an open and fair vote shall be taken at the next regular meeting by all  Stakeholders present. The vote shall be presided over by the Board and shall include one (1) vote per Stakeholder.

The new board member will immediately assume their seat on the board.

MOVIE NIGHTS! MOVIE NIGHTS! MOVIE NIGHTS!

We are excited to once again be offering the Atwater Village Summer Movie Nights at the Los Feliz Golf Course this year. The events are free to the public and are a wonderful way to bring the Atwater Village community together. 


 

Here are the details: Films & Dates (films begin at sundown)


Friday July 17th: Big
Friday August 21st: Big Hero 6
Friday September 18th: Atwater Votes: Jaws, or Jurassic Park, or Pirates of the Caribbean


(By attending the next two Movie Nights you can vote for the final movie)


 

We invite you to join us for the films. Our neighbors bring picnics to enjoy beforehand and it is a fabulous way to be a part of the Atwater Village community.
