December 2018
Happy Holidays
Thank you to all of our donors and volunteers!

November was a month to be thankful, and we are humbled by our neighbors and community partners who have given so much to Interfaith this past month, from Food Pantry donations to participating in Holiday GIVING to volunteering your time.

In November, this community served almost 2,000 individuals from the Food Pantry, provided crisis assistance to over 1,700 individuals and served the community with over 3,000 volunteer hours!

Thanks to your generosity, all of our families and Seniors have been adopted for Holiday GIVING! We are grateful to our community who continues to give to help our neighbors in need.  Interfaith will continue to accept new, unwrapped toys for children, ages infant to high school senior, for our Holiday Toy Drive. We are also still accepting food donations.

Click here to see an active list of participating businesses hosting toy drives or feel free to donate to our Office M-F, 8 am-5 pm. Toys are due by Monday, December 17!

Thanksgiving Feast for Senior Adults
At the South County Community Center

I nterfaith hosted another wonderful Thanksgiving Feast serving Senior Adults in our community! Guests enjoyed a special Thanksgiving performance by our Interfaith Child Development Center's Transition to Kindergarten class!

A very special thank you to Alex Sutton, Vice Chair of Interfaith's Board of Directors, for kicking off the event. Thank you to Commissioner James Noack for hosting us at the South County Community Center. We are grateful for the Interfaith staff and volunteers who helped put on this wonderful event.
There is still time to participate in Holiday GIVING!
Noack Foundation Party Kicks Off our Holiday Toy Drive!

Giving Tuesday was November 27, and we could not have been more excited to spend the evening with James Noack and family at his annual Christmas with the Commissioner event. The night's admission was one unwrapped toy for Interfaith's Holiday GIVING Toy Drive. The evening collected 475 toys and 18 bikes for local children in need! We appreciate the Noack Foundation for choosing to help our community in need and choosing to care.

Our Holiday GIVING Toy Drive is still collecting toys until Dec 17. For more information, email [email protected] or  click here to see our Toy Drive drop off locations.

Senior Services

We are THANKFUL for our Senior Adults in Montgomery County! November at Interfaith was packed with Senior Activities, like our Thanksgiving Breakfast, Veteran's Breakfast, Bingo, brunch at The Egg and I and our holiday shopping trip.

Interfaith's Senior programs host senior activities and parties, at Senior Living complexes in our area and at the South County Community Center, and seasonally all throughout the year. For more information, click here!

Holiday GIVING is in full swing, with seniors in need being served with holiday gifts and resources this season! A very special thank you to all who have signed up to make a tremendous difference this season, and to everyone who is participating in the Holiday GIVING Gifts for Seniors program.

Veterans Day Breakfast

" To those in uniform serving today and to those who have served in the past, we honor you today and every day.

Interfaith was honored to celebrate our Veterans at our annual Veteran's Day breakfast. Each year we honor our Senior neighbors who served, and have given so much so that we might be free. Thank you to Commissioner Noack and the South County Community Center for partnering with Interfaith for our annual Veteran's Day breakfast, and thank you to Alex Sutton, Vice Chair of Interfaith's Board of Directors, for opening the event.

A big thank you to STRIKE for attending and helping us serve our senior neighbors!
ESL Thanksgiving Party

Our ESL program wrapped up their Fall with a Thanksgiving Potluck. They shared their THANKFULNESS with fun, handwritten notes that decorated pumpkin turkeys! They will meet again in the new year!

Troop #114098 Visit Veggie Village

We love having the Girl Scouts visit Veggie Village! Our Wendtwoods Garden location is all about providing education to our younger community members! The scouts toured the garden, assisted us with the harvest and learned about how Veggie Village helps Interfaith provide fresh vegetables to those who need a helping hand.
Executive Speaker Series with Howard Hughes

Interfaith Young Professionals hosted its third  Executive Speaker series. Interfaith of The Woodlands and IYP Members enjoyed an engaging evening with Alex Sutton, Vice Chair of the Interfaith Board of Directors, and Jim Carman of the The Howard Hughes Corporation.
Guests  were inspired by the speakers' stories of being prepared, how taking risks can pay off and how businesses can serve their communities.  A special thank you to Gil Staley for moderating the evening.

Each month Interfaith's Food Pantry feeds nearly 1,500 individuals. In addition to serving the families that visit Interfaith every day, the Interfaith Food Pantry also serves home bound Seniors. Volunteers help package and delivers groceries to 185 Seniors in the senior complexes once a month.
